Guerrieri di terracotta cinesi illuminati sono i protagonisti di un’installazione a Sydney per celebrare l’inizio dell’anno cinese.

Per celebrare il nuovo anno cinese (che, quest’anno inizia il 19 febbraio), in Australia dal 13 febbraio al 22 febbraio presso il Dawes Point a Sydney, è stata collocata una particolare istallazione intitolata “Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors“.
L’opera creata dall’ artista cinese Xia Nan, è composta da 90 sculture di carta alte 2.5 metri e illuminate al loro interno, che riproducono fedelmente il famoso esercito di terracotta, (uno dei più straordinari reperti archeologici dei tempi moderni, raffigurante gli eserciti di Qin Shi Huang, primo imperatore della Cina).

Le sculture originariamente create per le Olimpiadi di Pechino 2008, ora viaggiano per il mondo, l’anno scorso hanno fatto tappa ad Edimburgo, in Scozia, mentre quest’anno, per la prima volta, sono approdate in Australia.
